Protect your Online ID and Password
KU Online IDs are used for various purposes at the University of Kansas. Some of the more common uses include: enrollment information, grades, financial payments, KU Card information, email, and banking information. Passwords are an essential aspect of computer security providing an important front line of protection for electronic resources by preventing unauthorized access. Sharing this information may result in the compromise of your accounts as well as University systems. Account information sharing is also a leading cause of identity theft.
If you share your KU Online password, you give others access to everything you can access with your KU Online ID. You may even be responsible for anything they do in your stead. Sharing your account with someone else is a violation of KU policy, and may cause you to lose access privileges and be subject to disciplinary actions.
We strongly recommend you don’t share your KU Online ID password with anyone, including your parents.
