Hawk Drive & Web Folder (WebDAV) capabilities

WebDAV - Introduction

WebDAV (Web-based Dsitributed Authoring and Versioning) is an Internet (HTTP) protocol that allows individuals to edit and manage files on a remote server that has this protocol enabled. Hawk Drive is WebDAV enabled. This means that data stored in Hawk Drive can be managed within a webDAV enabled application or operating system. Microsoft Office, for example, is WebDAV enabled, as are current Windows, Macinstosh and Linux operating systems.

For Windows (PC) users, in Windows 7: (KU Online ID authentication required)

For Windows (PC) users, in XP (KU Online ID authentication required)

For Macintosh (Apple) users, in OS X.5 or higher(KU Online ID authentication required)

Because Web Folders (also known as WebDAV) gives you direct access to your Hawk Drive space, it is recommended that Hawk Drive web folders only be used on a personally owned or campus computer, as opposed to a public lab or shared computer.
