KU Information Technology provides many services and products to help you throughout your academic career, including KU email account, the myKU Portal, the KU wireless network, computer labs, Blackboard, and Hawk Drive.
Accessing KU Email
Outlook Web App (OWA) allows you to check your email from any computer with an Internet connection and a web browser. You can easily access it by logging on at mail.ku.edu. You can also check your email through a variety of mobile devices and email clients. For configuration instructions or to find out more information, please visit email.ku.edu.
The myKU Portal is your gateway to in formation at KU. Use the myKU Portal to access services such as Enroll and Pay, grade reports, student elections, parking permits and much more. You can easily access the myKU Portal by logging on to my.ku.edu.
Hawk Drive provides a secure way for you to share files, store files, and collaborate with classmates here at KU and beyond. Hawk Drive is compatible with both Windows and Mac Platforms, using either Internet Explorer or Firefox web browsers, and it is available to you anywhere via a web browser. Blackboard is a web-based software package that makes it easy for instructors to use online tools and resources for teaching. Some instructors choose to post materials or a syllabus as a first step, while others begin by using the online gradebook. Some faculty members are using Bb to teach courses completely online, some are using it to supplement classroom (face-to-face) instruction, and some are creating courses known as “hybrids” that are a combination of face-to-face and online instruction. Media Production Studio
A recent addition to the Budig 10 Computer Lab, the Media Production Studio provides digital video editing and graphic design equipment and software for all KU students, including state-of-the-art Macs, HD video cameras and digital still cameras, a portable chroma “green” screen, and more. KU IT offers free training sessions throughout the year to students use a variety of software packages more effectively.
