Scheduling Rooms and Resources in Outlook
Automated resource booking allows faculty and staff to schedule rooms when setting up meetings in their Outlook calendar.
Users can see free/busy times for rooms, and room requests can be automatically approved. Not all rooms are designated for self-service and automatic approval. The decision on whether to allow automated booking is made by the room moderator, typically someone in the building or department where the room is located.
Automated booking provides a quick response (accept or decline) to scheduling requests for rooms and reduces the time room moderators must spend managing room requests.
These guides will help if you want to schedule a room or manage a room that is already setup for automated booking. View the short video below to see how to schedule a room. More information about automated booking is available in the KU IT Knowledge Base.
PLEASE NOTE: KU Information Technology is in the process of converting existing conference rooms to use automation. If you schedule a meeting and do not receive an immediate response that room may not be converted yet. If a room you use has not been converted, please contact your departmental technical support staff to request that transition.
