IT Security at KU

Technology security is a partnership between KU IT and our customers. The KU Information Technology Security Office (ITSO) provides security information, analysis, risk management and mitigation, awareness and guidance to help protect the University's information assets and technology environment.

Our goal is to have a safe and secure computing environment for research, teaching, learning and the everyday conduct of University business. We focus on three areas in protecting KU's systems and data: confidentiality, integrity and availability.

  • Confidentiality — Unauthorized disclosure of information
  • Integrity — Unauthorized modification or destruction of information
  • Availability — Disruption of access to or use of information or an information system
