Ally

Ally increases accessibility of content in Blackboard and Canvas and on KU websites. Ally not only helps individuals who need content in an alternative format for accessibility reasons, Ally provides greater opportunity for everyone to access the information in the way they need or want it.

Ally for LMS (Blackboard and Canvas)

Ally makes online course content more accessible in two main ways:

Kaltura Classroom (MediaHub)

With Kaltura Classroom (MediaHub) you can schedule automatic recordings of lectures or presentations or create ad hoc recordings. This powerful tool can be used for review, to supplement materials covered in class or to provide instruction that is entirely web based. Recordings can be viewed via a web browser and/or can be downloaded to a computer or mobile device. You can create both classroom recordings and personal recordings using your computer along with its microphone and webcam.

Adobe Sign

Adobe Sign provides a secure way to electronically obtain signatures, making it easier to record customers’ acknowledgement of important documents. With it, you can easily send documents, request signatures, track and manage the signing process.

QLess

QLess is a digital customer line management tool that allows customers to get in a line for service and, once in the line, get updates on their position and wait time. Customers can enter a virtual line in several ways:

  • Download and use the QLess app.
  • Visit a website.
  • Log in at a computer “kiosk” at the location (not available in all departments).
  • Be manually added to a line by a KU employee.

Employees and customers can also use Qless to schedule specific appointment times.

Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is a collaboration and communication platform for your group, team or department. It provides a cloud workspace for video meetings, group chats, team calendar and file storage/sharing.

Teams includes the following tools and capabilities:

Distribution/Group Lists

Email distribution lists, also known as mailing lists, listservs or discussion lists, allow people with common interests to easily share information and participate in discussions by using a dedicated email address. For more information about distribution lists, see the Email Discussion Lists page.

KU IT offers two list serving methods: 1) KU Group Lists, and 2) Mailman.
