Blackboard

Blackboard is KU's learning management system. Blackboard allows instructors to manage and deliver course materials online.

Cable TV

KU IT offers cable TV services for departments, including activation, termination or movement of your existing service. Cable TV service is provided to the University community via the campuswide broadband system.

Central File Storage

KU's Central File Storage service provides high-performance, easily accessible file sharing services for KU individual faculty and staff members and groups.

Classroom Technology Support

KU IT Classroom Technology Support provides assistance with equipment and hardware in classrooms, including troubleshooting, equipment checkout and training.

Client Consulting

Computer Security

Conference Calling

Conference calling options are available via the device for analog telephones, and digital and VoIP telephones. Users can also place conference calls via an Intercall Conferencing account.

Content Management System (CMS)

KU's content management system (CMS) is a software platform that enables users to easily build and maintain websites.

KU's Digital Signage solution provides a single campuswide system to support the informational, promotional, branding and emergency broadcast needs of the University, and individual schools and departments.

eduroam

KU has joined a global consortium of nearly 6,000 institutions offering quick and easy access to local Wi-Fi networks via eduroam, a network access system developed for the international research and education community.

Email - Departmental

Departmental email accounts are associated with a task or function. Departmental accounts are owned by the department or organization and must be renewed annually (fall semester).

Email – Mobile Access

All KU email accounts are accessible on mobile devices via the KU Outlook Web App. You can also sync your KU email and calendar to your mobile device via Exchange ActiveSync.

Email - Personal

KU provides students, faculty and staff with 2 GB email accounts. A KU email account is automatically created when you set up a KU Online ID.

Email – Security/Encryption

Digital credentials are available for all current KU faculty, staff, and student staff. KU uses DigiCert certificates for email signing and encryption.

Enroll & Pay

Enroll & Pay is KU's Student Information System. Enroll online, check your grades, pay tuition, put money on your KU card, and more.

eWaste Recycling

KU’s eWaste recycling service provides a way for obsolete, unused or unwanted electronic equipment or data storage devices to be securely recycled.

Firewall Management

Google Analytics

Google Analytics provides statistics and tracking on who is visiting your site, where they are coming from, the technologies they are using, etc. All KU CMS websites can be configured to work with Google Analytics.

Grade Posting

Faculty and instructors post grades electronically via Enroll & Pay at the end of every semester.

Group File Storage

KU IT provides departments and campus groups with two options for high performance, easily accessible file storage via KU's Central File Storage and Research File Storage services.

HR Pay

The University of Kansas' Human Resource and Payroll System.

The KU campus data network provides for over 15,000 faculty, staff, and student connections. KU IT is responsible for the engineering, design, installation and ongoing day-to-day operation and maintenance of all internet systems on campus.

KU Anywhere (VPN)

KU Anywhere, KU’s virtual private network (VPN), provides secure access to resources on the KU network from off campus locations. Service available to faculty (including emeriti), staff, GTAs and GRAs.

KU Directories

KU provides the following directory services: KU Online Directory, KU People Search, KU Telephone Directory Assistance.

KU IT Knowledge Base

The KU IT Knowledge Base is an ever-growing collection of self-help articles about campus technology services. Search by topic or software to find solutions and walkthroughs for common IT tasks and issues.

KU IT Security Office

The KU IT Security Office provides security information, analysis, risk management and mitigation, awareness and guidance to help protect the University's information assets and technology environment.

KU Online ID & Password

Manage your KU Online ID and password, your keys to accessing most of KU's online services including: KU email, Blackboard, Enroll & Pay, myKU Portal, and many more.

KU Software Web Store

KU students, faculty and staff can download free and discounted software through the KU Software Web Store. Log in with your KU Online ID to see what software is available based on eligibility.

Lecture Capture

KU’s Lecture Capture service uses Echo360 appliances and software to enable faculty to schedule automatic recordings of lectures or presentations. Students can view those recordings and interact with others online regarding course material covered in the recordings.

Media Production Studio

KU's Media Production Studio provides equipment, workspace and software for students and faculty to shoot, edit and produce digital projects.

Microsoft Imagine Academy (formerly IT Academy)

KU faculty, staff and students have free access to Microsoft Imagine Academy, a learning site that features online courses on Microsoft’s most popular software, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Project, SharePoint, Access, and more.

Multimedia Equipment Checkout

KU IT Media Production Studio offers a variety of multimedia equipment for checkout by faculty, staff and students including: DSLR cameras, video cameras, microphones, hard drives, iPads and accessories.

Music on Hold

Service that allows licensed, pre-recorded music and KU-related items of interest to be played while callers are on hold. Currently for Lawrence campus phone numbers only.

KU IT is the primary provider of phone and voice services at the University, including traditional phone services and voice over Internet (VoIP).

Print From Anywhere

KU’s Print from Anywhere service allows users to print from their computers or mobile devices to multifunction printers located in computer labs, libraries and other campus locations.

Printer Management for Departments

Administrative print management information for monitoring, reporting and controlling access to campus printers/multifunction devices.

Project Management & Consulting Services

KU IT's professionally certified project and process managers provide leadership and guidance for University and IT projects and for identifying and implementing business process improvements.

Recording Booth

KU's Media Production Studio provides equipment, workspace – including a 1-person sound booth for audio recording - and software for students and faculty to shoot, edit and produce digital projects.

Research File Storage

Research File Storage provides easily accessible file storage and sharing services to KU research projects, research groups and service labs.

Security Assessments & Consulting

The KU IT Security Office provides security information, analysis, risk management and mitigation, awareness and guidance to help protect the University's information assets and technology environment.

Servers – Hosting & Management

KU IT maintains a data center for hosting physical and virtual servers. KU campus unit and departments are encouraged to re-locate physical or virtual servers to the KU IT data center.

Skype for Business

Microsoft Skype for Business (formerly "Lync") allows you to communicate and connect with colleagues using chat, voice, video and online meetings through a consistent user experience across computers, laptops, smartphones and tablets.

Sponsored Temporary Accounts

Sponsored Temporary Accounts provide access to electronic services for campus temporary hires (non-HR), contractors, vendors, guests, groups, etc.

KU IT Technology Support Centers (TSC) offer faculty and staff a diverse range of technology support. Find your TSC.

Training & Workshops

KU IT offers free training and workshops throughout the year to help faculty, staff and students use a variety of software packages more effectively.

J-Talk is a complete call answering and voice mail system for University faculty and staff office phones.

KU IT Web Services provides website hosting, maintenance and development services to KU offices, departments and faculty.

Web/Video Conferencing

KU IT offers two options for self-managed web/video conferencing: Blackboard Collaborate and Skype for Business. KU also offers multi-point video conferencing services at select campus locations.
