  • Wireless First Initiative

In partnership with Chancellor Girod and Interim Provost Lejuez, KU Information Technology is embarking on an innovative Wireless First initiative to transform how KU faculty, staff, students and visitors on campus connect to each other and the world.

What does Wireless First mean?
Our goal is to eventually have 80% of users and devices connecting via wireless on the Lawrence and Edwards campuses. There will always be a need for some wired connections, and we will work with unit leaders to ensure the right connection for all devices and equipment.

Benefits:

  • Increased coverage and capacity of Wi-Fi network on campus provides
  • Greater mobility and flexibility for smartphones, laptops and tablets
  • Stronger security and more robust security controls
  • Provides options for future enhanced features

We will continue to update this website as the project progresses through planning and roll out. Check back for updates!
