Description —
KU IT loans equipment for free classroom use, including:
- Portable video projectors.
- Portable projector screens (sizes: 50”, 70”, 84”, 92”).
- Wireless presentation remotes.
- Small portable sound systems.
Some equipment may be reserved and checked out for special events. A nominal fee may be charged.
Please contact Classroom Technology Support at least one week prior to your event to ensure equipment is available.
Cost —
There is no cost for equipment loaned for classroom use, or for classroom support, training and troubleshooting. However, a fee may be charged for clickers and installation/repair requests.
Because classroom technology is funded and purchased to support academic courses, rental fees and charges may apply to equipment loan, equipment delivery and setup for special events.
Access —
To request an equipment loan, contact Classroom Technology Support at via this online request form or by calling 785-864-1200.
- Reservations are filled on a first come, first served basis. Equipment may not be checked out for personal use nor taken off campus without prior approval.
- Instructors/GTAs are strongly encouraged to make equipment reservations at least 48 hours in advance, and cancel unneeded equipment reservations to free up items for others.
- Equipment check out is not available to students. Equipment will be checked out only to instructors/GTAs for instructional use.
Equipment checked out is the responsibility of the client/department. Late fees, repair, or replacement fees may be charged. Equipment may be reserved for 10 business days. (Contact Classroom Technology Support at 785-864-1200 to request an exception to this policy.)

Training and Tutorials —
Classroom Technology Support provides media training in the classroom or at the time of equipment pick-up/delivery.
Departments can schedule a training session in a classroom for instructors, GTAs, or others through the online request form or by calling 785-864-1200. Classroom Technology staff will also provide one-on-one training on request. Training is best completed before classes begin, but can be conducted anytime.
