Working Off Campus
KU IT offers applications and services that make it possible to work remotely and access the KU resources you need from anywhere in the world. KU's Remote Work policy guides off-campus work arrangements.
The same policies, procedures, guides and standards for use of technology on campus also applies when accessing KU technologies off campus. As a KU employee, you are required to know and follow these policies while working on campus or off campus. See a complete list of the technology-related policies at KU on our KU IT Overview page. All University information technology policies and related documentation are also available via the KU Policy Library.
Be Prepared to Work Remotely
Whether you are planning a trip, will be working remotely on a hybrid or permanent schedule, or work off campus occasionally, we recommend preparing and testing tools and access in advance so you know they will work for you before you actually need them. Some tips:
- Think about the equipment you will need and contact your departmental IT Support Staff, or the IT Customer Service Center at 785-864-8080 or itcsc@ku.edu, for assistance.
- Make note of the file path for your shared department and personal drives and any specialized websites.
- Consider moving important working files to OneDrive for Business (your personal cloud storage) or a SharePoint site or Teams site to access your files without mapping your drives or connecting to the KU Anywhere VPN.
