File Storage for Researchers
KU Information Technology in partnership with the Office of Research provides two types of file storage for researchers that is separate from Central File Storage. The Office of Research subsidizes the cost of the file storage, which lowers the cost.
Both types of file storage below are available to tenure-track faculty, principal investigators on a research grant, designated research centers and departments.
File Storage Options
Research File Storage
Research File Storage (ResFS) provides easily accessible file sharing services to KU research projects, research groups and service labs.
ResFS is intended for work files related to ongoing research projects.
Research Archive Storage
Research Archive Storage (RAS) provides large-scale storage and backup to high-density tape for infrequently accessed data.
RAS is intended for unused, set-aside data that still needs to be stored.
