IT Security Training & Consulting
We all play an important role in protecting the University's systems, data and workstations. One of the best ways to combat ever-increasing technology security threats is through education and awareness.
The KU IT Security Office provides the following training services for the KU community.
Online Training
All KU faculty and staff are required annually to complete the IT Security Awareness Training Course in the MyTalent system. The training period is announced each year in conjunction with National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.
On-Campus Trainings & Presentations
The KU IT Security Office provides in-person security awareness trainings and presentations for KU groups and departments, including:
- Official KU groups
- Units/departments
- Administrators and management
- Staff at all levels
- Unit/department technology support staff

IT Security Consulting
IT security experts in the IT Security Office are available to consult with anyone in the KU community who has questions or concerns about IT security, including department leaders, faculty, staff, researchers and students.
