Description —
An Oracle database is a collection of data treated as a unit, which is used to to store and retrieve related information. A database server reliably manages a large amount of data so that many users in a shared environment can access the same data simultaneously. A database server also provides security to protect data by preventing unauthorized access and allows for more efficient recovery of data in case of a system or other technical failure.
KU uses Oracle as a database management system and for online applications such as Enroll & Pay and HR/Pay. Oracle is available for approved use by departments and researchers.
