Microsoft Office
Microsoft Office is an office suite of desktop applications, servers and services for the Microsoft Windows and Mac operating systems. It includes Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote. Microsoft Office is standard on all KU-owned workstations for faculty and staff.
Microsoft Office 365
Microsoft Office 365 provides online versions of Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote and more (see below). Office 365 is accessible anywhere, anytime from any computer or mobile device with an Internet connection. Office 365 is directly integrated with OneDrive for Business for editing and co-authoring documents.
KU students, faculty and staff can download free desktop versions of Microsoft Office products for home use through Office 365.
What’s included in Office 365 at KU?
For Windows:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Access, Publisher, Outlook, Skype for Business and OneDrive for Business.
For Mac:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Skype for Business and OneDrive for Business.
No cost when downloaded through Office 365.
On KU-Owned Work Machines:
Microsoft Office is standard on all KU-owned workstations for faculty and staff. If Microsoft Office is not installed on your workstation, please contact your technology support staff for assistance.
For Home Use:
No cost when downloaded through Office 365.

Microsoft Office is available in most campus computing labs.

Students can download Microsoft Office via Office 365 by logging into myCommunity with their KU Online ID.
