KU Information Technology provides a number of options for developing, hosting and managing websites. The available options vary depending on a number of criteria.
- Content management system (CMS) is the primary platform for departmental websites. KU CMS websites are built on Drupal, an open source content management system. Pre-designed KU templates make it easy for people without web development skills to create and manage websites.
- cPanel is a website hosting platform that provides a provides a graphical interface and automation tools. cPanel websites require web development knowledge and skills, including advanced web programming expertise depending on the complexity of the site.
- KU Engage is a vendor-provided student engagement platform for registered student groups.
