Description

An iClicker is a wireless polling (student response) system allowing instructors and students to dynamically interact through questions and answers in real time. When students submit responses to questions posed by the instructor, aggregated data displays on-screen in a variety of ways allowing immediate sharing of feedback between students and the instructor.

Two options are available: iClicker Classic and iClicker Cloud. A product comparison is available on the iClicker website.

Depending on the course and instructor, students may have a choice of purchasing a iClicker device or using the iClicker web app on a smartphone, tablet or laptop.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Some instructors require the use of a physical iClicker device. Consult the course syllabus and/or check with your instructor prior to purchasing a subscription to the iClicker Student App.

Access

Faculty

Contact the KU IT Classroom Technology staff at itcsc@ku.edu or 785-864-1200 for assistance in setting up and working with iClickers.

The company provides, free of charge to faculty, an instructor remote, a student remote (for experimenting with the system), and a receiver to use for practice, along with the software and website access.

Students

Purchase an iClicker device: iClicker hand-held devices are available for purchase at the KU Bookstore. Contact KU Bookstore for the latest pricing information.

iClicker Student App subscription: Some instructors allow the use of the iClicker Student Mobile App, which allows students to use their personal laptops, mobile devices or smartphones as an iClicker. See the iClicker website for the latest pricing information.
