KU provides a variety of training options to help KU students, faculty and staff gain knowledge and skills to make them more effective and successful in their academic, research and work endeavors. While most of the training opportunities presented here are technology-related, some training is available in other areas.
Workshops
KU IT offers free training sessions throughout the year to help faculty, staff and students use a variety of software packages more effectively. We have regularly scheduled Technology Training Workshops that are open to anyone, as well as group sessions or individual consultations that can be customized to meet the needs of faculty and staff. MyTalent
KU Employees Only: A professional development and performance management system that provides online training modules in a number of areas, including technology, leadership, workplace effectiveness and more. Required employee trainings, including IT security and sexual-harassment prevention, are delivered in MyTalent.
LinkedIn Learning
KU Employees Only: LinkedIn Learning with Lynda.com content is available to KU employees through the MyTalent system. LinkedIn Learning is an online library with 7,000+ courses that teach the latest software, creative, leadership, and business skills through high-quality instructional videos.
Canvas Help
A website with a wide range of guides and other resources to help students, faculty and staff most effectively use the Canvas learning management system.
Technology Instruction & Engagement Team
Leads technology training efforts on campus, including teaching and facilitating in-person workshops, managing the HowToKU website, and providing customized training for departments and individuals.
Educational Technologists
Provide insight and expertise in helping instructors choose and use the most effective tools and resources to meet their teaching and curriculum needs.
KU CMS Guide
A website that provides guidance and step-by-step instructions for creating and managing websites in KU's content management system.
